Birds of a Feather

Image
Owl Together Now I recently had a workshop for a friend of mine and she asked me to show a sample using our Bigz L Die "Mini Milk Carton".  So I quickly asked my good friend Shawna if she had that die and thanks to her (thanks Shawna:) I was able to make this cute little milk carton that also happened to be sporting an adorable owl friend that was made with our new owl punch - thanks again to Shawna!! I wanted to use some DSP (Designer Series Paper) that I already had and ended up using our Elegant Soiree DSP.  I was inspired by one of the designs on the paper - somehow - I saw feathers!!  So, I hope you enjoy my little feathered friend on a mini milk carton!!  Do you see feathers too? Isn't he CUTE!?  I also love that the milk carton is not glued shut, but uses a library clip to keep the top of the milk carton closed, but you can easily get at the goodies (i.e. chocolate) inside without having to rip the whole (work of art) thing apart!! Northern Flurry meets Perfect Polks Dots I was inspired to make this card when I saw a LNS (Late Night Stampers) post by Sharon Field - thanks Sharon!!  She first embossed her card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and then embossed again using the NEW Northern Flurry embossing folder from the brand new Holiday Mini catalog.  It kind of looks like snow falling... I chose to use our Shimmery White card stock on a Whisper White base.  I added Rhine stone jewels to the center of the snowflakes - love that bling:)  I heat embossed "Merry Christmas" in silver embossing powder using the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes on Shimmery card stock and punched it out with the Word Window punch and layered it on a piece of Whisper White card stock punched with the Modern Label punch.  The finishing touch was our beautiful Whisper White Organza Ribbon.  The picture truly doesn't do it justice, unfortunately!  We will definitely be making this card in a Christmas card cl

Sympathy Card This is a recently retired set called "Asian Artistry".  I love this set and never felt like I used it enough.  I think it makes a beautiful sympathy card.  I heat embossed the main image with gold embossing powder (109129) on Basic Black card stock (121045).  I then painted the bird with Frost White (116854) and a little Champagne Mist (116806) shimmer paint. After I let it dry, I colored it with metalic pencils in shades of green and blue-green.  The other images are stamped with gold Encore pigment ink on Very Vanilla card stock (101650) although in the picture it looks like Whisper White.  I'm not sure you can see it very well, but it has a dragonfly in the upper left corner. Happy Stamping:) Claire Ventre

Hello Stampers! I haven't posted in a while, but I wanted to remind you about the Stamp-a-Stack this coming weekend (Friday, December 18th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm or Saturday, December 19th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm). We will be making some last minute holiday cards, gift cards and money holders. Perfect for the last minute gift - gift card for the postman/woman, paper boy, etc. Here's a sneak preview of one of the money holder! This card is made using one of our new In-colors Bermuda Bay which pairs perfectly with Gable Green for a non-traditional look. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I've also used the dazzling diamonds technique to add tons of sparkle and shine! The best part is this card is big enough to hold paper money flat (or a check). I have a few spots left in this class, so let me know ASAP if you'll be attending!

RAZZLEBERRY POST-IT NOTE HOLDER

Image
I recently participated in a bulk buy of rectangle coasters - and then had to find something to do with them!! I had seen samples of post-it note holders using coasters and this my version. I used a rectangle coaster that is 3-7/8" x 5-3/8 and covered it with Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (115675). (I used SU! Anywhere Glue Stick (104045), but you could also use Tombo MonoMulti liquid glue (110755). I tied a piece of Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain ribbon (115611) around the bottom. I added a 3" x 3" pink Post-it note with sticky strip (104294). I stamped the butterfly image from the Great Friends stamp set (113792) in Melon Mambo, cut it out and adhered it to a 1-1/4 in. circle (104400) of Rich Razzleberry card stock. (The "antenna" are from the Pretties Kit (109114). The neat thing about the clip at the top is that it is MAGNETIC!! (Purchased at Office Max - they come 6 in a pack and are 1-1/4 in sq.) So, you can stick them to your refrigerator, file c
